The Raconteurs: You Can't Buy What You Can't Find What You Can't Buy

In a bold bout of Radiohead-like promotion, The Raconteurs announced the release of their second album, Consolers of the Lonely, a mere week before it's to hit stores. However, unlike that of Radiohead, The Raconteurs' album will be available via all major retail markets in both physical and digital forms. The group’s newsletter states, "We wanted to explore the idea of releasing an album everywhere at once and THEN marketing and promoting it thereafter."

In an age of revolutionary marketing and promotional ploys, The Raconteurs may have very well set the new industry standard. Jack White and company have not advertised or given interviews for the record to date. Consolers of the Lonely, the follow up record to Broken Boy Soldiers, will be released March 25 on Third Man Records.
