Richard Hawley follows up his good, but not great 2008 album Lady's Bridge, with the September 22nd release of Truelove's Gutter (Mute). Despite a few weak tracks on Lady's Bridge, Hawley's albums are always anticipated affairs. A songwriter of his strength and talent have that next great album waiting somewhere in their head, and as the saying goes, even their weaker records are better than most songwriter's better efforts. For that reason, we'll be looking forward to giving Truelove's Gutter a spin.

Please, if anything, Lady's Bridge is the equivalent of Coles Corner, if not its superior. And it's definitely more consistent. Also, it's from 2007. Check your facts.
