Ryan Bingham - Roadhouse Sun

Sometimes a short, concise and well-crafted review featuring choice words and phrases is enough for a consumer; it was enough for me about five minutes ago after I read the LA Times blog Pop and Hiss. Descriptions like: "Lone Star beer in mason jars," "outlaw country, roadhouse blues, wind-whipped folk," and "like a track off of Wilco's "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot," if it had been doused in gasoline," provoked me into buying the newest, sophomore album from Ryan Bingham & The Dead Horses. The record, titled Roadhouse Sun which dropped today on Lost Highway, needs no further explanation other than what has been mentioned above. If the tracks don't reflect the dirtied, rousing descriptions of writer Margaret Wappler, then you're not listening right. Enjoy.

This album almost validates self-intoxication.
