The new mp3 above begins with a simple piano progression (think Lennon's "Imagine") and slowly builds with soft layers of vocals, guitars, and accordion (perhaps harmonium). There is certainly a good amount of The Beatles in Gold Dissolves to Gray, which brings to mind comparisons with bands such as Dr. Dog. Yet, Sunset are able to put enough of themselves into the record to make it one of the more surprising and satisfying records to come out in the past few months. An essential listen.
