Standard Fare: The Noyelle Beat
Things move fast in the blog world, and sometimes you can't catch everything. So it goes with the ace trio Standard Fare from Sheffield, England. There are countless musical references on their debut record The Noyelle Beat (Bar None), everything from British post-punk greats, to more simple and poppy touch-points like The Cardigans. Really it's all moot, as Standard Fare have made a unique and solid record in their own right, anchored by their sweetly winning melodies and standout vocal performances from singer Emma Kupa.
