Star Slinger is a clear front runner for one of our favorite producer/DJs of the summer, and it is not even summer yet. Wait, did that Alien just eat that fucking woman? While I have no idea what this video is supposed to be, but it is keeping the Star Slinger buzz alive. This UK producer brought us a highly underrated and under-publicized album titled, Volume 1. What makes Star Slinger's song so successful is his use of fantastic throwback samples, most finding root in Motown or early R&B. He takes these samples, modernizes them and finds a way to make his choruses big and addicting purely through acute song construction. His video for the first tune off Volume 1, "Mornin," got our attention early on, and we have been fans ever since. You need to get this album and you need to listen to it loud...all SUMMER.
